I come from an extended family of artists and collectors, and grew up responding to aesthetically pleasing objects. For over 40 years, cursed (or blessed, depending) with horror evacui—the fear of empty spaces, asking me to pick a favorite item is apropos of asking a mother to pick her favorite chid. I do love the thrill of the hunt, and the glory of collecting is in knowing there is always something new to find. So, please, shop knowing that there are no hard and fast rules to antique/vintage shopping. Value is fluid. If you like something - buy it! You may not have the opportunity again.
